A New Season

This is a season of change at Lord of the Streets. Our building is undergoing renovation, which should be finished in November. The work is opening up the first floor so that we can move our services inside, allowing more people to meet with case workers, attend classes, look for jobs, and (re)build life skills needed to become housed and remain housed. This is in addition to our current services: mail, showers, clothing, vision clinic, Harris Health Clinic, prayer, Bible studies, recovery meetings, and meals.

Rather than grab-and-go meals outside, with people lined up and leaving immediately, however, we are serving meals inside. Folks are coming in, sitting down, receiving services, and also having a meal while they are here. We have been receiving positive responses to our change in services.
  • "I had come to depend on those meals, and that's a problem. I need to get back up and start caring for myself."
  • "I had stopped coming here because of the trash and fights with folks outside waiting for meals. This is wonderful, and I'm going to be coming here again."

Another change is the retirement of our Executive Director, Marie Marchand, and we give thanks for her years of leadership with us. We are now working to hire a Chief Program Officer and outsourcing our financial management so we can have more of our resources dedicated to client/parishioner care. Our CPO will also oversee operations of LOTS’ overnight shelter as it expands from the two men we have now, to four, nine, and perhaps eighteen, abiding together in peace and healing.

As part of our LOTS community, your gifts fund our services and bring peace and healing to the lives of people who have lost nearly all. With your help we can end the year strong, on solid financial footing, ready to expand our ministries into 2027. Thank you for your support and care.

The Rev. Brad Sullivan
