Our Mission
Lord of the Streets is a church community that Relieves suffering and Restores dignity by Rebuilding lives through ministries and relationships with people facing homelessness.
RELIEVE: We seek to relieve the suffering of people living on the streets or on the margins. Through our life-giving care, we provide for peoples' daily needs. |
RESTORE: We work and pray to help restore every person to God's design: a right relationship with God, with self, and with others. We were designed for healthy connection to God and people.
REBUILD: We help each person to rebuild a life marked by 1) their belief in their inherent dignity, 2) by habits of health of body and mind and spirit, and 3) meaningful engagement. We each were designed to be engaged in meaningful ways with others - through employment, if possible, and donations of time and money. |
Our Vision
A city in which people experiencing homelessness are quickly housed and immersed in communities that restore dignity, health, and meaningful engagement in society.
That means folks experiencing homelessness give and receive compassion and respect to and from all. In a compassionate and respectful community, people experiencing homelessness are not viewed or experienced as a problem, but as people in need of love and support.

Our Values
Faithfulness - our first commitment is to love and obey God; and in doing so, to re-present God and to bring God glory.
Relationships - we see and serve people of inherent and eternal dignity, with names and stories and depth waiting to be discovered by those who show up consistently, listen carefully, and pray specifically. We work to earn credibility, establish trust, and reinforce each person’s belovedness. Community - we invite neighbors, volunteers, supporters and staff to be valued members of a church community, a network of caring relationships rooted in faith in which everyone both contributes to others and receives from others. |
Compassion - our hearts break over the things that break God’s heart, and we work with and for each other to address both immediate and lifelong holistic needs.
Teamwork - we pursue collaborative partnerships to maximize the utilization of resources and reduce duplication of efforts in meeting more of the needs of greater number of our homeless neighbors. Humility - we are a committed to learning, from our own efforts and from others, and to applying what we learn. |
